The FSI Transition Center, in partnership with the Family Liaison Office, offers the Home Based Business workshop conducted by Staff Centrix.
This program is designed to teach participants how to locate legitimate employment and freelance leads to develop home-based careers that are family-friendly, financially rewarding, professionally satisfying, portable, and in pace with the rapidly-evolving needs of the 21st century marketplace.

Program Overview:
This six-hour program will teach participants to:
- determine if they are good candidates for home-based work
- customize their resume to make them more appealing remote hires
- conduct effective home-based job searches online to find "telework friendly" companies that routinely hire home-based workers
- recognize common scams and avoid them
- recognize the differences between working as an employee and a contractor.

Non-State tuition rate: No charge

<title><![CDATA[A course for FS spouses interested in working]]></title>
<link><![CDATA[http://www.state.gov/m/fsi/tc/training]]></link><description><![CDATA[MQ703 Post Options for Employment and Training is a useful one day course coming up soon on Thursday, March 20 at the Transition Center, FSI.  This is a great resource for adult family members of FS employees.  

As we all know overseas employment is a critical issue for U.S. Government foreign affairs spouses.  

The presenters will:
	Discuss and explain the options and support that exist at overseas posts to find employment inside and outside the mission. 
	Introduce the various training opportunities that FS family members have access to while in the US or overseas. 
	A resume expert discusses the various kinds of resumes needed overseas. 

How to register:
	State department employee/family member will register through the employee's CDO.  
	Non State employee/family member must fax an SF 182 through their training officer to the FSI Registrar at 703 302 7152.
